scene-pilot

scene-pilot is a video publishing service for creators and teams. It turns long videos users own or have licensed into vertical short clips and uploads them to their connected YouTube channels through the YouTube Data API. It uses youtube.upload for uploading and youtube.readonly to identify the connected channel before the user confirms the destination.

How it works

  1. 1. Add a video

    A team member adds a long video the team owns or has licensed to the library.
  2. 2. Analysis

    Once per video, on the owner's own computer: speech is transcribed word by word in English and Russian, scene changes are found, and the people in each shot are located so the vertical frame keeps them in view.
  3. 3. Ready plans

    On request, the same computer prepares plans for shorts — no video is rendered yet. A plan says which pieces of the original video to use, where each language version starts and ends so no phrase is cut, the 9:16 frame, the subtitles, and a title, description and tags drafted by a language model.
  4. 4. Pool

    Every plan can be watched in the browser exactly as it will come out, in English and in Russian.
  5. 5. Montage (optional)

    A person can change a plan: reorder or trim pieces, adjust the frame and the subtitle words, add music, a banner or a promo clip.
  6. 6. Schedule

    A person picks the connected channel, the language version and the time. Nothing is published unless someone schedules it.
  7. 7. Assembly

    Right before publishing, the server assembles the post file in one pass from the original video and the plan: pieces, frame, audio track and subtitles.
  8. 8. Upload

    At the scheduled time the post is uploaded to the connected channel; on YouTube, through the YouTube Data API (videos.insert). The link to the published video appears in the planner.

What scene-pilot does not do

  • It does not generate, synthesise or alter images, video or voices of people with AI: no synthetic media, no deepfakes, no face swapping, no face or voice cloning. Every short is made only of the original footage — cut, re-framed and subtitled.
  • It never creates, edits or publishes intimate or sexual imagery of any kind, including AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII).
  • It is not used to make content about real people without their consent.
  • It uses the YouTube Data API to identify the connected channel and upload the videos the team schedules. It does not read other videos, comments, subscribers or analytics.

How AI is used

AI here only analyses videos the team already has:

  • speech recognition — for subtitles and to keep phrases whole;
  • scene-change detection;
  • detection of where faces and people are in a shot — only to place the vertical frame; nobody is identified or recognised;
  • a language model that suggests which existing scenes to cut into shorts and drafts titles, descriptions and tags.

None of them create or change images, video or voices. Google user data is never sent to an AI model and never used to train one. Nothing is published on its own: a person on the team schedules every post and can watch exactly how it will look first.

How YouTube is used

scene-pilot uses youtube.upload to upload the videos you review and schedule through videos.insert. It uses youtube.readonly to retrieve the authenticated channel ID and title through channels.list(mine=true), display the destination and let you confirm it before queued uploads resume. The upload permission alone does not allow retrieving this channel information.

By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; the Google Privacy Policy applies as well. What we keep and how to have it deleted is in our Privacy policy.

Who the service is for

scene-pilot is a publishing service for video creators and teams, intended for external users as well as its owner. Access is currently provided by invitation; there is no public self-service sign-up yet.

The owner currently creates panel accounts. Users connect channels they are authorized to manage and publish only videos they own or have permission to use.
